	Virtually clear indoors

	Orma Transitions III Grey clearly out-performs the previous generation, with their high light transmission which makes them very light indoor. The clarity of Transitions lenses indoors is due to their ability to transmit more than 87% of visible light when in their non-activated state (increasing to around 94% with anti-reflective coatings). This development is in line with consumer research, which has shown that the wearers feel that a low residual tint is an essential requirement of a photochromic lens.

	A dark tint outdoors

	In the darkened state the LTF drops to 30% for Orma Transitions III Brown, 25% for Orma Transitions III Grey and 31% for Ormex (at 20 degrees C), making it an ideal comfort lens.

	Complete colour stability

	Thanks to new photochromic pigments, Essilor Transitions III has excellent colour stability throughout the darkening and lightening process. It means that your patients won't have to put up with lenses that change colour as they darken and lighten up.

	100% UV protection

	Essilor Transitions III lenses absorb 100% of UVA and UVB radiation, no matter what state of activation they are in, giving your patients protection against the harmful effects of UV radiation on the eye.

	New Transitions III is now available in grey in Orma. The Orma CR307 lens is only half the weight of the glass equivalent.

	Dispensing tips

	Recent consumer research has shown that 69% of clear spectacle lens wearers would consider buying Transitions III lenses. Because it is virtually clear in its unactivated state, Transitions III is ideally suited to people who have not considered tinted or photochromic lenses.

	Demonstration is a very important part of the sales process with Essilor Transitions III. Show your patient how lightly tinted they are in the inactivated state and how dark they can become. Mention that they give 100% protection against UV, no matter what their state of activation. Essilor's package with Transitions lenses is unrivalled. IN DAILY USE

Whilst driving, the lenses will remain clear because the UV that is required to darken them is blocked by the car's windscreen. Night driving in Transitions III is permitted under CEN Regulations because the product is virtually clear. For additional visual comfort we recommend that anyone working indoors or driving at night be dispensed Transitions III with a Crizal hard anti-reflection coating.

In the mountains, temperatures are lower and UV radiation high, Transitions III will be at their darkest. At the seaside temperatures are higher and the lenses darken less. No matter what the location, Transitions III block 100% of all UV rays. Transitions Lenses require UV to become activated. A residual tint may remain if they are put in their case while still dark. Clean in warm soapy water and dry with a lint-free cloth.
