Health Promotion Board & Essilor Singapore

As responsible corporate citizens, Essilor Singapore is proud and honoured to collaborate with Health Promotion Board (HPB), a subsidiary of Singapore’s Ministry of Health, on a fund for needy/poor students in Singapore, aptly named “The Spectacle Fund” from 1st April 2006.
|
The main objective of this program is to provide basic eye care to needy/poor students, via regular eye screenings conducted in various schools and offering them a pair of spectacle with Airwear® lenses, redeemable through participating optical outlets. These students’ families’ financial status will be screened by the respective schools and HPB; during the round-nation school health-screening exercise. These are mainly primary-school pupils, from age 7-12 years old.
Airwear®, is a polycarbonate lens that features a higher impact resistance than other organic opththalmic material. Airwear® is also able to shield your eyes from harmful Ultra-Violet radiation. Its features have shown to be a better lens that provides good safety and optimal optical performance for the young children.
