  • Common Eye Concerns
You are entering the most active period of your life, you will rely on your vision as you pursue further education, begin your career, or start a family To be competitive and be ahead of the pack, you need peak performance from your entire body—especially your eyes!

Your vision may change as you grow older so you still need to have your vision checked regularly. If you already wear glasses ou may want to change your vision correction to better fit your lifestyle. Thinner lenses, prescription sunglasses or Transitions lenses are all options depending on your needs.

If you’re like most people in their twenties and thirties, you probably enjoy excellent vision. Most likely you are emmetropic—that is, you don’t need glasses and your vision is naturally 6/6, and hasn’t changed since you were a child.
Don’t take you eyes for granted, the single best way to protect your vision is through regular professional eye examinations. This is also a good time to learn about how your eyes work, to help you understand why you have good vision today—and what changes you may begin to see as you reach your mid- to late thirties.
Visual Fatigue
At this stage of your life, chances are you use the computer or portable electronic devices such as laptops, mobile phones or video game players. If your activities revolve around these devices or you spend more than 3 hours a day working at close range, chances are you might experience some sort of visual fatigue.
Visual fatigue can manifest itself as a set of symptoms known as "asthenopia" :

These symptoms may include:
Pain
Burning
Dryness
Headaches
Blurred vision
Red, watery eyes
Difficulties concentrating

These symptoms can be brought about by minor visual errors that otherwise would not need correction with glasses; small errors between the focusing and movement of the eyes (these have to coordinate to get one clear image).
Correction: For some of these cases Essilor’s Anti-Fatigue lenses may prevent and relieve visual fatigue while offering optimal correction.

UV Protection
Every day in any season – under sunny or cloudy skies– all of us are exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. You may not even realize it because,UV radiation is invisible to the eye. Few people realize that their eyes are just as vulnerable as their skin and also need protection.

Research has shown that exposure to the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays contributes to short-term vision problems such as “snow blindness” and “photo-conjunctivitis” and to potentially more serious age-related conditions including cataracts and age-related macular degeneration, (the leading cause of blindness in people over 60 years)

Correction: To reduce exposure of your eyes to harmful ultraviolet (UV) light. Essilor® Transitions® block both UVA and UVB ultraviolet rays. Whether you’re capturing life’s special moments or simply going about your daily routine, Essilor® Transitions® lenses help preserve and protect the health of your eyes so you can see better now – and years from now.
